The Emergency Medicine Independent Practice Specialists Unit (EM IPS Unit) is a professional representative initiative established to promote, protect and advance the recognised status of Independent Practice Specialists in Emergency Medicine within South Africa.

The Unit is currently establishing its national governance framework.

During this establishment phase, EM IPS Unit is engaging with relevant healthcare stakeholders on matters relating to recognised specialist practice, professional governance, healthcare funding and administrative implementation.
